Portfolio Committees

A variety of committees located in the portfolio areas contribute to the operation of the Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Academic) and to the University in general. Principal among the committees in the portfolios of the Division are those that report directly to Academic Board: the University Learning and Teaching Committee, Internationalisation Committee, Program Approval Committee and Quality Enhancement Committee. Sub-committees of these groups focus on specialised areas.

University Learning and Teaching Committee (ULTC)
The University Learning and Teaching Committee is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Academic). According to the Committee's terms of reference, it has 'been established as an interactive forum for discussing, developing, implementing and disseminating positions on key learning and teaching issues'.

The agendas, papers and minutes of the ULTC are available on the DVC&VP(A) website during the current calendar year and for the previous calendar year, after which they may be accessed through the Records Management Office, a division of Corporate Information. Queries related to the ULTC can be addressed to the Executive Officer: marie.reitano@adelaide.edu.au.

The Committee is appointed from nominees of Executive Deans (usually Associate Deans in portfolios concerned with learning and teaching), together with representation from areas with a primarily academic focus, but which are not within faculty structures. Members are not, however, appointed on a representative basis. While they are expected to bring expertise from their general disciplinary background in order that a broad range of approaches to learning and teaching is covered, members are expected to approach their role from a university-wide rather than from a local perspective.

Standing committees reporting to the ULTC are the
