Applications and approvalsInvestigators wishing to import material from overseas should determine whether they require an Import Permit from the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS). Some quarantine status material must be stored or dealt with in a Quarantine Approved Premise (QAP) and investigators must ensure that they either access an existing QAP or establish a new QAP registration. Investigators should also be aware of their responsibilities in relation to maintaining compliance with quarantine status materials, including the new requirements for training. The AQIS Biologicals Unit has a 'Frequently Asked Questions about biological products' web page that may assist you with other initial queries regarding import procedures. Once you have recieved your import permit, you are required to forward a either a hard or electronic copy of the permit to: Research Compliance Officer If you have any other queries regarding your quarantine compliance obligations please contact the Research Compliance Officer. |
