Requesting an item from the Joint Store/URRSA

Contents

Anyone may ask for a Joint Store (URRSA) item to be paged from the Joint Store to any of the University of Adelaide Libraries.

Registered members of the University of Adelaide community should use the Request facility on the Library Catalogue to ask for a book or a whole volume of a journal to be paged from the Joint Store.
Members of the University of Adelaide community can also request an individual article from a journal in the Joint Store - use the Document delivery Request form for a copy of the article to be delivered to your computer desktop (charges apply).

If you are not a student or staff member of the University of Adelaide you can ask for a book or a whole volume of a journal to be paged from the Joint Store. Just ask staff at the Loans Desk or at the Information Desk.

How to request a book

University of Adelaide members can use the Request facility on the Library Catalogue to have a book paged from the Joint Store.

Here is a Library Catalogue record for a book that is in the Joint Store:

When you click on the Requests button you will be asked to authenticate yourself as a registered member of the University of Adelaide:

When you click the Login button you will go to the Requests screen. You need to select Joint Store (URRSA) Request from the drop down menu:

You will then see the Request: Joint Store screen:

  • check that the copy number is correct, if there is more than one copy
  • the default Pick Up location is the Barr Smith Library; you can change this to another Library (Law Library, Waite Library, etc.) if that is more convenient for you
  • click on the Submit Request button

How to request an article from a journal [or a chapter from a book]

University of Adelaide members can use the Document Delivery service to request an article from a journal, or a chapter from a book, that is in the Joint Store. Please note that a charge is made for this service.

Joint Store photocopy charges

Let's say you are looking for this journal article:
Kim, Kong-On 'Sound symbolism in Korean'. Journal of linguistics vol. 13, no. 1, 1977, 67-75.

Click the Library A to Z link at the top of the screen then click on J to get to the Joint Store entry. Click on Journal article Request form.
This will bring up the Document Delivery request form which is used to request a journal article from the Joint Store.

First you will need to click on the I Agree button. Then fill in your University of Adelaide Username and Password and click the Login button.
This will bring up the second part of the Document Delivery request form:

You'll see that your contact details have been filled in automatically by the system. Please note: Make sure that the box marked Your Department or Affiliation has been filled in. If it is empty, you will need to enter your contact details before proceeding.

Under Type of request click on Joint Store request.
Click the Contine button to bring up the third section of the Document Delivery request form:
