Orientation and Library Tours

Students and other library users can learn more about the layout and services offered at the various university libraries through orientation sessions. In some courses there are also special library seminars which will be arranged by your lecturer.

Barr Smith Library

There are maps of the Barr Smith Library, showing the layout of each level.

During Orientation Week, and into the first few weeks of first semester, the Library provides orientation sessions for new students. The 50 minute sessions include an introduction to our website and catalogue, followed by a brief tour of the building. There are also sessions at the start of second semester.

No booking is required for these sessions, but come on time. There's a limit of 30 students per session. Sessions begin by the Information desk, just inside the Library entrance.

Throughout the academic year, the Barr Smith Library offers 30 minute tours on the first Thursday of the month for staff, students and members of the public. You can book a tour with Jennifer Osborn.

Elder Music Library

The Elder Music Library offers orientation tours every day during Orientation Week. Ring 83033685 for bookings.

Law Library

During Orientation Week, morning and afternoon tours of the Library are available each day. A session can be booked using the booking sheets displayed in the Law School foyer throughout Orientation Week.

Throughout the academic year, orientation tours are offered on demand to students. Please ask at the Law Library desk.

Roseworthy Campus Library and Waite Library

In Orientation Week the Libraries run orientation sessions for new students. Sessions are organised with lecturers and also advertised in each Library.

Throughout the academic year, the Waite Library offers orientation tours every Friday morning at 11.00am for students and staff. Bookings are not required and other times can be arranged. Please ask at the desk.

In the Roseworthy Campus Library, tours are offered on demand to students and staff. Please ask at the desk.
