Festival of Short Films

Location: Scott Theatre

In 2007 the University of Adelaide held the inaugural festival of short films open exclusively to people under the age of 25. Participants told and entertained us with their stories about the streets of Adelaide. This year we are running for the second time the festival, in which we will watch another wide variety of young film makers’ productions. Come on and join us!

Goodman Crescent Lawns

A venue for everyone - Different passions: sports and culture, Chinese and Australians, all together at the same place!

This is the right place to be if you do not want to miss the Olympic Swimming finals, leave Open Day without having a taste of China, joining the sports association or planning a sports career.

Theatre Guild

The University of Adelaide Theatre Guild performs work by students in the University’s Creative Writing program. Directed by Michael Allen. Short, sharp, dynamic – performances run for around 20 minutes.

Hughes Plaza

There's two parts to University - your study and then the social aspect! The Adelaide University Union (AUU) enhances your life on campus and provides EVERYTHING you'll need outside of the class room!

Stop in at Hughes Plaza and check out the atmosphere - this is just a taste of what the AUU does all year round! Listen to live music, play some games or watch some demonstrations. Also check out the special interest clubs or sporting clubs that are available to join. Joining is a great way to meet people and makes your time at Uni even more enjoyable.

Helen Mayo Refectory

The Mayo Refectory is a student’s food haven! Open daily for both breakfast and lunch, the café offers a full range of options for any appetite including sandwiches, wraps and salads made to order. Daily selections of both hot and cold specials are prepared fresh by the fantastic in-house team of chefs. If you are in a hurry, fresh sushi, Greek yoghurt, pies and pasties are stocked and ready for the taking!

Union Bookshop Café (UBC)
Ground Floor, George Murray Building

Grab a cold juice, fruit smoothie, coffee or lunch on your way to relax or study in the sunny Barr Smith Lawns. The UBC offers a great range of fresh, home-style lunch options including delicious toasted sandwiches, gourmet baguettes, and savoury croissants. It’s a popular spot for those seeking out a great coffee before those 9:00am lectures!
