Expert panels address the big issues: Leading university researchers address issues that affect everyone's lives in a panel format. Come and interact, ask questions or put forward your opinions for discussion with some of the Uni's top minds.

Information Talks

Planning your pathway through university? Trying to make a decision on which area you would like to focus on? The Information Talks offer you insight into what degrees and opportunities the University of Adelaide can bring to you, as well as assisting with overviews on just what university life and curriculum is like, how to enrol, to more domestic issues like just how much it costs to go through a degree.

Tours

Explore and discover the university campus; how to get around; experience the history and visceral reality of its heritage buildings; take in public artworks by prominent South Australian artists; take in the Museum of Classical Archaeology's interesting and broad range of antiquities; and wander through the laboratories that facilitate some of the leading research of our time.

Entertainment

Live entertainment, food and refreshments will be available all day at locales throughout the university. For those musically inclined, the Battle of the Bands, judged by a panel of musical maestros from the prestigious Elder Conservatorium, will be a highlight as will performances from the CASM in the Walter Young Gardens, and those by the Elder Conservatorium in the Barr Smith Library Reading Room and Elder Hall. The Open Day 2007 Short Film competition will also be a lively and intriguing addition to the Open Day line up, films will be played [tbc].

Arts & Culture

A number of talks, unveilings, lectures and exhibitions will be running over the course of this year's Open Day. Hear speakers talk about an exciting 'hands-on' course in European art they jointly teach, which looks at art from the Renaissance to early modern times; 'Antiques Road Show' meets 'Collectors' when Dr Margaret O'Hea identifies and attempts to give more insight into the background and use of your precious archaeological artefacts.

Displays & Activities

The Bonython Hall will play host to an academic and student services expo over the course of the day, come speak directly with University people on all matters academic. The individual Faculties will also be holding activities to showcase their work and the fun of studying in their discipline.
