Welcome to the Parent's Guide

Parents can play an important role in helping their children to make sound career and study choices.

As a parent or care giver, you can play an important role in helping with your son or daughter’s study and career choices. The decision to go to university is a big one, considering that degrees take anywhere between three and six years to complete; then, there are postgraduate study options for professions that require them.

The right career pathway can take some time to figure out, but these are some ways that you can help your child:

  • Recognise their strengths and interests.
  • Encourage them to identify their goals. Students with a sense of direction are more likely to be motivated toward their study.
  • Assist them in finding out information on a wide range of career choices and study opportunities.
  • Be flexible and encourage them to accept the range of opportunities available.

Then, there are other factors to consider, depending on your family’s circumstances. Explore the menu options to the left to find out more information and learn how we can help you.
