Bachelor of Science

What if I don’t have the pre-requisite subjects?

If you have only one year 12 science subject or you do not have any year 12 science subjects you will need to apply for a program which does not have prerequisites. These programs are:

You will need to complete a full year of study in two science areas, e.g. Biology and Chemistry.
There will be an opportunity for students in these Bachelor of Science named degrees to transfer into level 2 of the BSc. Students will need to pass the level 1 courses.

Bachelor of Science (Animal Science) PreVet

What if I don’t have a high enough TER or the pre-requisite subjects?

If you are worried that you might not receive a high enough TER for the Bachelor of Science (Animal Science: Pre-Veterinary) then you should consider putting the Bachelor of Science (Animal Science) as a second preference. The Bachelor of Science is another option that can offer students a pathway into studies in Animal Science.

If you don’t have the pre-requisite subjects for the pre-veterinary degree you can apply for the Bachelor of Science (Animal Science). The Bachelor of Science (Animal Science) offers pathways for students without prior Chemistry or Maths and has no pre-requisites. From 2009, there will be an opportunity for students in the Bachelor of Science (Animal Science) to transfer into level 2 of the pre-veterinary degree. Entry into level 2 will be extremely competitive, and students will need to complete all the level 1 studies at a high standard.

Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science)

What if I don’t have a high enough TER?

If you are worried that you might not receive a high enough TER then you should consider putting the Bachelor of Science as a second preference. In the first year of the Bachelor of Science you can undertake the core courses required for the Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) degree. If you pass these courses to a minimum of a credit average you may be eligible to transfer to the BSc (Biomedical Science) in level II.

If you do not receive the required grades in first year, you can undertake similar studies in the BSc as the BSc (Biomedical Science) to pursue similar fields of interest.

What if I don’t have the pre-requisite subjects?

If you don’t have the pre-requisite subjects for the Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) degree there are several degrees you can apply for.

  1. If you have two Year 12 science subjects but do not have Year 12 chemistry you can apply for the Bachelor of Science. The Bachelor of Science offers pathways for students without prior Chemistry. There will be an opportunity for students in the Bachelor of Science to transfer into level 2 of the BSc (Biomedical Science). Entry into level 2 will be extremely competitive, and students will need to complete all the level 1 studies at a high standard. Level I Biology and Chemistry/Foundations of Chemistry must be completed to at least a Credit standard.

If you do not receive the required grades in Level I, you can undertake similar studies in the BSc as the BSc (Biomedical Science) to pursue similar fields of interest.
  2. If you do not have any year 12 science subjects you will need to apply for a program which does not have prerequisites. These programs are: These programs allow the study of Level I Biology and Chemistry/Foundations of Chemistry, prerequisites for the BSc (Biomedical Science) degree.
