Computer Systems engineers design and construct computer systems in all of their various forms. This involves the design of electronic circuits, writing software, installing and managing computer networks, planning projects and managing people engaged in these activities. A detailed and thorough knowledge of the structure of computer systems and of digital circuit design methods is needed to undertake these tasks successfully.
The Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems) develops these skills by providing a strong background in mathematics, physics and electronics, as well as extensive practice in the design and operation of both hardware and software systems. It also develops written and oral communication skills, and familiarity with project management and quality control techniques.
The study of economics at the University of Adelaide will help you understand how a market economy works. It will also help you to develop other important employment skills - critical and logical thinking, evaluation of argument and evidence, knowing where and how to find information, working with initiative and in teams, and communicating both orally and in writing. These are the skills that employers constantly say they look for in graduates.

Students who have not taken SACE Stage 2 Specialist maths will be required to enrol in Maths IMA followed by Maths IA and Maths IB in summer semester to complete the requirements at Level 1. |
