Program Outline

At the heart of world politics today are new challenges. The graduate programs in International Studies provide an opportunity to explore the character of the contemporary world and gain an advanced understanding of the key issues and debates in international politics since 1945. At the heart of the program is a group of staff who specialise in a wide range of areas of teaching and research, including:  

• Strategic and Security Studies
• Contemporary International Thought
• Gender Perspectives in International Relations
• International Political Economy
• Issues of Equality and Inequality in the International Sphere
• Power and Culture
• Asian Studies and European Studies. 

A new range of strategic and security studies electives are also available.  It is also possible for students to undertake some language studies.

All courses are taught via seminars, with assessment consisting of writing essays and making seminar presentations.
