Premier's Science & Research Fund (PSRF) - Round 6

Jim Deed Grants Manager (Major Programs) +61 8 8303 3534

Stage 1: Expressions of Interest with Internal Certification – due Monday 11th August 2008

Stage 2: Full Proposal with Business Case: - due Wednesday 1st October 2008

The Premier’s Science and Research Fund (PSRF), incorporating the Sustainable Energy Research Grants Program (formerly known as SENRAC), is an initiative of the South Australian Government and the Premier’s Science and Research Council (PSRC). The fund was established to facilitate investment in key science and research initiatives that have a demonstrable potential to generate significant strategic and sustainable economic, social and/or environmental benefits for the State.

The fund can inject a total of up to $4.2 million per annum into new and continuing strategic R&D initiatives. Applications are assessed on a competitive basis, to optimise the contribution made through the Government’s investments to the objectives and targets of South Australia’s Strategic Plan (refer www.SAplan.org.au), the 10-Year Vision for Science, Technology and Innovation in South Australia (STI10) and in coordination with ConstellationSA..

In Round 6, applications addressing strategic research into climate change or water will be particularly welcomed.  As in previous years, the PSRF will also consider requests for support for ARC Federation Fellowship applications.

Please note that the PSRF require significant co-contributions from host institutions and partner organisations, and these contributions must have appropriate internal University approval before submission (see Internal Certification Form).

The PSRF application process involves two stages.

  • Stage 1 comprises a 3-page 'Expression of Interest' and these are due by Monday 11th August 2008 in Research Branch, together with a fully signed internal contribution certification page (pdf (pdf 69kB), rtf (rtf 184kB)).
  • Stage 1 applicants whose projects are assessed as appropriate to proceed to the second stage will be invited to submit a more detailed Stage 2 application and project case by Wednesday 1st October 2008.
