Progress on the Lands Update on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands http://www.sapo.org.au/pub/pub12463.html The South Australian Government, in collaboration with Australian Government agencies and Anangu organisations, is working to improve the planning and coordination of service delivery to communities on Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (the Lands). In June 2006, the peak consultative body Tjungungku Kuranyukutu Palyantjaku (TKP) meaning "Working together towards a better future", developed an action plan that would assist in creating sustainable improvements in the living conditions of Anangu on the Lands. The TKP Action Plan continues on from the work of the APY Lands Strategic Plan, and builds on the five priority areas identified by Wiru Palyantjaku, a community group that emerged out of TKP. The impact of co-payment increases on dispensings of government-subsidised medicines in Australia http://www.sapo.org.au/pub/pub12446.html Patient co-payments for medicines subsidised under the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)increased by 24% in January 2005. We investigated whether this increase and two related co-payment changes were associated with changes in dispensings of selected subsidised medicines in Australia. The study findings suggest that recent increase in Australian PBS co-payments have had a significant effect on dispensings of prescription medicines. The results suggest large increase in co-payments impact on patients' ability to afford essential medicines. Of major concern is that, despite special subsidies for social security beneficiaries in the Australian system, the recent co-payment increase has particularly impacted on utilisation for this group. The focus was on the development of suitable housing options for people with a psychiatric disability. The study period covered five years of mental health system reform in South Australia (2000-2005).
