More Information

TAFE/VET Graduates

Applicants who have completed a relevant TAFE/VET award can be considered for university selection on the basis of their completed studies, in addition to other qualifications where relevant.

Candidates apply through SATAC and may be eligible to be considered for admission via multiple pathways or sub-quotas, with their rank in one sub-quota in no way affecting their rank in another. Eligibility for admission is assessed on the applicant's rank for the sub-quota in which they perform best. For more information on subquotas, please see selection criteria.

TAFE/VET qualifications that lead to university programs include:

  • Completed Diploma (formerly called Associate Diploma) or Advanced Diploma meets the minimum entry requirement for many undergraduate programs offered by the university.

  • Completed Certificate IV awards (including former Advanced Certificates and some other Certificates) meet the minimum entry requirements for university diploma programs, as well as bachelor programs in Agriculture and Wine Marketing.

  • Completed Certificate IV awards in music meet the minimum entry requirements for Bachelor programs in Music.

  • Completed Certificate I-IV awards in music meet the minimum entry requirements for Music Certificates.

Many faculties grant status (also known as credit or advanced standing) for previous TAFE/VET studies. For further information see the TAFE Credit Transfer Directory or the relevant faculty to which you are applying.
